We are who we are because someone loved us. Their love allowed me to experience the love of Jesus.Benchmark of a Christian Pastor is the recognition that this world is not our home. As pastors, we are suspicious of all forms of idolatry. It’s not bad to have, or to want. But we must remember that it’s a gift to give. Not to be enamored by. You can't love until you love yourself. As a people, we are emotionally terrorized. We don’t know how to love ourselves well, let alone others.
Martin Luther King Jr. was first and foremost a minister of the Gospel. He said,
I am never for sale. I am committed to human values that have no market price.Dr. King was assassinated, but not crucified. Prophets are assassinated. He was no false messiah. He would be the first to say that without Jesus, he couldn’t make it.
