Now I am bound by the Spirit to go to Jerusalem. I don’t know what awaits me, except that the Holy Spirit tells me in city after city that jail and suffering lie ahead. But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God. — Acts 20:22-24

4 Phases of Transition

Craig Groschel1. The Spirit’s Prompting

The Greek is literally “wrapped in wind”. It’s an ineffable experience.

2. Certain Uncertainty

God won’t show us the details. To step toward your destiny, you have to step away from your security.

If you’re not leading with uncertainty sometimes, you’re not leading on faith

3. Predictable Resistance

If you’re not ready to face opposition to obedience to God you’re not ready to be used by God. Don’t worry when you’re being criticized. Worry when you’re not.

4. Uncommon Clarity

3 Levels of Influence

Catalyst Make1. Make a Name for myself

This level assumes I’m good. Your main opponents are Critics and Competition.

2. Make a Difference

This level assumes we’re good. Our main opponents are those outside our organization, especially those who are very similar to us. We regard them as competition.

3. Gospel

This level assumes that God is good. We understand our main enemies are Satan and Sin.

If we can get to level 3, we can truly make history.
