Welcome to my blog! I serve as the teaching pastor at
Beavercreek Nazarene in Dayton, OH. My wife Amanda and I have been a part of BCN since 2009, when we came here to work with college students at Wright State University. We love pop culture and travel. Let me repeat that for emphasis: we
love pop culture. And travel. A lot.
I'm originally from Missouri. I studied New Testament and Early Christianity first at Southwest Baptist University, (graduated with a BA in 2003) and then at the University of Missouri Columbia (MA in 2006). While I was in Columbia, I served as Director of Youth at Parkade Baptist Church. In 2009, Amanda and I tied the knot and a week later moved to Dayton to join the BCN family! (Yes, that was crazy.)

Amanda grew up in North County St. Louis, and completed a degree in Spanish (University of Missouri, 2003). She's studied and served in Mexico, Spain and El Salvador. Before coming to BCN to work with Wright State students, she served for two years as an Associate Campus Minister at the Mizzou Baptist Student Union and was one of the lead Spanish tutors for Mizzou's Spanish department. Today she runs the Bridge Cafe, which means she makes a killer latte
.
We love superheros (the Batman is the best, of course), all kinds of television, and tattoos (we're both working on sleeves at the moment). We're always ready to meet some new friends, too. So if you happen to be in Dayton, look us up and we'll make some dinner. And if you're not in Dayton, maybe we'll be in your neck of the woods sometime soon. Find us on
Facebook or
Twitter and connect. We'd love to make a new friend!
