Actors and Reactors
We like to imagine that we’re the heroes of our own stories. But we’re all-too-often reminded we’re not in control of even the most basic areas of our lives. This is good – a chance for us to remember that we’re living in God’s story, that the Holy Spirit is the main character, and we’re all invited to respond to what the Spirit is doing in our world. The Spirit acts, and we get to react.

When you think of idol, you think of a little statue. But idols can be anything that distracts or distances us from God. During Lent, we’re going to look at some of the most popular idols in our culture. We’ll see what they are, and how they pull us away from God. We’ll also discover the better way God calls us to.
