Pompeii
The song "Pompeil" by Bastille is about what it feels like to live through the End of the World. When our world is rocked by tragedy, we tend to look backward, to idealize the "Glory Days" of the past and pine for what we've lost. But God's words through the prophet Isaiah remind us that God is never finished with us, that God is doing a new thing in our midst. The prophet calls us to be mindful of what God is doing NOW. The Glory Days are ahead of us because God is with us.

These days, we’re obsessed with the End of the World. We should remember that when Jesus came the first time, it really was the End of the World, at least as we knew it. And the beginning of something much, much better. This Advent, we prepare ourselves to welcome Jesus’ coming into the world by exploring the book of Revelation!
