Why Should I Fear?

The Prophets & Poets Mixtape

Nobody likes change, but change is inevitable. Fortunately, the God we worship does not leave us to figure out a changing world or life circumstances on our own. Rather, God embraced the pain of change to become human and die for us. We can trust God to be faithful, to walk through change with us!

What does it mean that God is FOR the world? Epiphany is the season that celebrates the revelation of God to the world. Epiphany asks, Who is this god who came among us? Like the mixtapes young lovers used to make, we’re listening to the songs of God’s prophets and poets because such a powerful love can really only be expressed in song. The soundtrack to God's good news is now playing!

We ended 2012 in the Revelation, exploring how Jesus’ coming into our lives is the End of the World as we know it. But if Jesus’ coming is the End, it’s also a new beginning. Jesus’ death and resurrection reconnect us with God, open up a world that has been lost to us since Sin entered into the world. So to kick off 2013, we’re going to dive into Genesis 1-2. We’ll explore God’s original intentions for the world, and the implications for our new life in Jesus. After all, in the new year, it’s good to get the First Things First!
