Bad Deal

We've all heard "You're not yourself when you're hungry." But what if the opposite is true? What if something as basic as hunger shows us our true selves? When we're not the masters of our desires, we will miss what God wants to do in our lives and in our world. Jesus shows us how to master our desires so we can be present to God.

From Series: "Bad Deal"

Why are temptations so... well, tempting? Why are we so attracted to things that are bad for us? And how can we resist them? In this Lent series, we explore the nature of temptation and turn to Jesus' example to heal us. Plus, some help from Dostoyevsky's Grand Inquisitor, because what would Lent be without some 19th century Russian literature?

Who is God?

The answers to this most basic human question can be found in the Scriptures. Over and over, God comes to humanity, interacts with us in ways we can understand, and we learn more of who God is. Often in these interactions, the people who met God would give God a name – a way to describe how God had worked in their lives.

As we explore these stories, we’ll learn that God is the same God for us today. God is our provider, our shepherd, our banner, our peace, our mother and more!
