Invisible People

It Came From Within

We’re surrounded by people who are invisible. They’re all around us, but we don’t see them. We ignore them to the point they’re invisible. But just as Jesus saw the Samaritan woman, we must learn to see those invisible people, to show them that the Savior of the World has come for them, too!

From Series: "It Came From Within"

This is the season of the year when people start to think about monsters - ghosts and goblins and things that go bump in the night. We normally don't think of monsters having anything to do with the Church, but we'd be wrong. The reason people tell monster stories is that monsters are a safe way to talk about things we're not ready to admit about ourselves. We don't want to see ourselves as selfish, unforgiving, ill-tempered. So we tell stories. We create monsters. So today, we're going to shine some light in the cracks of our lives. Expose the monsters to the light. And hopefully it'll be fun!

Who is God?

The answers to this most basic human question can be found in the Scriptures. Over and over, God comes to humanity, interacts with us in ways we can understand, and we learn more of who God is. Often in these interactions, the people who met God would give God a name – a way to describe how God had worked in their lives.

As we explore these stories, we’ll learn that God is the same God for us today. God is our provider, our shepherd, our banner, our peace, our mother and more!
