Reasonable Faith

Rooted

Christians often treat Reason as an enemy of faith. From science and philosophy to psychology and questioning, we demonize those who use their minds as opponents of faith. But Jesus commands us to love God with all our minds. So what does that look like? How can Reason be a path to a deeper relationship with God?

From Series: "Rooted"

How do we know God? Not just know about God, but have a deep, personal relationship with the creator of the universe - how do we KNOW God? In this series, we'll explore our four sources of knowing God: what we experience in our life, the cloud of witnesses we call the church both local and universal, our ability to reason and the Scriptures. How does each of these four sources help us better know God?

We live in turbulent times – from endless war to a slowly recovering economy to a looming educational crisis and ineffective government. While we take care of our lives one day at a time, we can’t help but sense a storm gathering on the horizon. In this, we are much like the Jewish people who lived at the time of the prophets. Surrounded by forces outside their control, God called them to remain faithful in their daily life, to trust him to handle the big stuff. God spoke through prophets. Because their books are so short, we call them the Minor Prophets. But while their writings are short, their message has major implications for our lives today.
