Give Us a King!

In our world, we commonly outsource much of our life to professionals. We also have a tendency to do that with our faith as well. The story of Israel demanding a king in 1 Samuel demonstrates for us that God desires an unmediated relationship with us. It's scary, but we were created for that freedom!

[/one_half][one_half_last]Why do we love stories about monsters? Vampires, werewolves, zombies and ghosts fascinate us – which is strange. Monster stories aren’t really about monsters – they’re about us. Monster stories externalize our deepest fears about ourselves. If we’re willing to face our monsters head-on, we can find freedom and hope.

Let the monsters die so the human can thrive!
