Good Soil

In the beginning, we were presented with two trees. One brought Death and one brought Life. We chose Death and have been eating the fruit of that Tree - pride and all the other Deadly Sins. But in Jesus' Death and Resurrection, we have been freed from our Sin. Through the power of the Spirit, we can again eat from the Tree of Life! But how do we live fruitful, Spirit-empowered lives? Is it just a matter of trying harder? No. The fruit is a gift of the Spirit. Our responsibility is to cultivate the soil the Fruit of the Spirit grows in - the soil of our lives. As Jesus teaches us in Mark 4, cultivating a life that is ready to grow spiritual fruit is something we have to choose to do. It's about intentionally ordering our lives. And when we do, Jesus promises that the harvest will be miraculous!

This year, Beavercreek Church of the Nazarene turns 60 years old. Over the last 60 years, we’ve made Jesus famous in our community by Bridging Church to Neighborhood. As Jesus has for us, we’ve gone into our neighborhoods, taking Jesus’ love with us and showing our community in tangible, practical ways that Jesus loves them.

Now it’s time to take the Next Right Step. What will Beavercreek Nazarene look like in the next 60 years? What kind of church will we become? For the month of September, we explore our new vision, imagining together how it will shape our announcement of the Jesus’ Good News in Beavercreek, Ohio. We want to become the Church that connects and engages the unchurched in our neighborhoods.
What does that look like? Join us as we dream together!
