Lamb Living

Identity Crisis

Forgiveness in the face of injustice is difficult. Seeking reconciliation is even harder – it often feels wrong not to fight back. But Revelation shows us a Jesus who is not a conquering lion, but a slaughtered lamb. And his sacrificial forgiveness and reconciliation – as demonstrated when he appears resurrected to Peter – make him worthy to rule the universe. How can we imitate his example?

From Series: "Identity Crisis"

Why is it so hard for the Church to live as Jesus in the world? Why such a sharp divide between the love and mercy of God and the way Christians interact with each other and the world? The Revelation offers us a powerful picture of who the Church is called to be: a reflection of Jesus in the world. By listening to them with pictures of Jesus from John's gospel, we see a clear picture of who we are called to be.

We often look at the way our culture is headed and lament what we’ve lost. But God is preparing something new, something better. By listening to the voices of Israelites who lived after the Exile, we can learn how to hope in God’s new thing. Because this is not the End!
