Our Bodies are Good

Our Bodies are Good

We're taught that our bodies are bad, temporary and accessory to our spirituality. But according to the Scriptures, our bodies are good gifts from God, essential to our personhood and vital to our relationship with God and others.

From Series: "Crave"

We're made in God's image, but we have bodies, while God is spirit. Are our bodies accidental? Are they temporary? Or are they good, vital and essential to our spirituality? How can we resist the cultural narrative that teaches us to hate our bodies?

What do the various world faiths believe? What do they have in common with Christianity? How do they differ?

Every day, our world gets smaller.

Today more than ever, we’re constantly in contact with people who don’t believe the same things we do. How can a person who follows Jesus have healthy, respectful and loving conversations with people of other religions? What can a Christian and a Muslim talk about? What about Buddhist or Hindus? Atheists or Mormons?

In this class, we’ll explore the basic structure, beliefs and practices of other religions. We’ll learn where they overlap with Christianity, and what the important differences are.

In the end, we’ll be more confident of our own faith, and more able to engage those of other religions with love and grace.
