We struggle to offer grace to people we feel don’t deserve it – which is, ironically, exactly who needs grace. Uncovering the true biblical origins of Satan helps us come face to face with this graceless impulse. It turns out, refusing to extend grace to others is what makes us truly Satanic. How can we choose to be a grace-filled people?

But if we take another look at some of the most infamous villains of all time, we may find they're more human than we thought. We may see ourselves in their reflection. How many times have you heard about one of those spectacular events in the Old Testament and thought, “It must be nice!” If only I had seen the Red Sea part, or Elijah’s showdown on Mt. Carmel. Then it’d be so easy to trust God! But apparently that’s not true. We see again and again that the big events aren’t what transform us into God’s people. Rather, we find God in the ordinary phenomena we see every day.
