The Good Shepherd

Monday Messiah

Karl Marx famously claimed that religion was the ‘opiate of the masses’. He meant what we know – religion can be a powerful means of controlling people. And what tools do we have available to us to learn to hear the voice of the Good Shepherd, Jesus himself?

During this series, we’ve been exploring the three temptations using Dostoyevsky’s “The Grand Inquisitor”.

This Sunday, we’re going to switch things up. I’m going to share some of my own fiction that I’ve used to reflect on the nature of Jesus third test.

What did it mean that Satan told Jesus to worship him? How could Satan offer up the kingdoms of the world?

Questions to consider… until we gather on Sunday. See you then!

Join us Sunday as we explore what it takes to rule the world – and why we should fail that test.
